[NMLUG] Bootable LinuxCD's

When you boot a RedHat distribution CD into "recovery" mode,
you are actually booting into Linux from the CD.  I believe
it sets up ram disks during boot for the disks it needs to
have mounted.  You might look at what RedHat does when
booting into recovery mode.

I've have booted into recovery mode with the RedHat CDs in the past 
and then mounted hard drive partitions, setup hard drives with
lilo, etc.
