Thanks. I'll try those switches.

I see that CD Disk #1 of the Mandrake 9.2 download edition is also a
"rescue" disk and that I can run <dd> and <qtparted> from its command
line. If this has become standard for Linux distros I guess Mindi and
Mondo aren't necessary anymore.
